Final Blog : Rap
There are many different sections of Hip/Hop and Rap Music, one of which being Conscious Rap. This form of rap is incredibly beautiful to me as it pulls together communities in shared experiences of pain. This genre is dominated by black artists and producers which can add context to explain the pain exhibited in their works. It is well known that the black community faces many hardships by simply existing in our skin. Though our walks of life vary, we all at some level understand the slight sadness that comes with being black in America. While of course there are rappers of other races who have been praised, there is still controversy surrounding white rappers in the black community. As these issues and differences are important it is not the topic for today. Not only are these pieces very emotional in varying ways, their musically delightful to listen to.
